This Cherry Blossom Card is inspired by the DC Cherry Blossom Festival and the Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees that were originally donated to the United States in 1912 by the people of Japan. The process to create this card came about from a series of six hand sketches of different cherry blossom trees from images around the Tidal Basin at the Jefferson Memorial. Two of the six concepts were chosen and refined in our studio where the engineering of Letterpress Light was applied to create the embossed accents in the image you see now. The visual effects of the tree branches came out as a complete surprise as the ink appears to be broken along lines of the branches through the cotton paper leaving the look and feel of a heavy bark.

This Henna Flower wedding invitation is printed by Letterpress Light, with the design provided by Jess Volinski, a talented graphic artist, with a penchant for all things pretty. Bringing this design to life to was a collaborative effort of many hours and the results produced the deepest bite available on cotton paper today.
