Watercolor and Letterpress Invitations

A beautiful watercolor flowers design and a letterpress print came together in this perfect spring wedding invitation. This custom wedding invitation was created for a bride who wanted a rich forest and flowers feel, with lots of greens, purples, and pinks. Wildflowers rising out of the earth symbolize new life and a new beginning for the couple on their wedding day.

Luxurious Papers and Colors

The original watercolor design was reproduced digitally on Crane Lettra paper, with a deep green letterpress print for the text. A forest green cardstock was applied to the back of the invitation, and also used for the inner envelope liner. The forest colors were rounded out with fresh spring green edge painting.

Custom Watercolor Design

If you love the look of both watercolors and letterpress, this type of combination would be perfect for your own custom wedding invitations. Watercolor flowers are a beautiful and happy decoration for your wedding invitation, whether you’re getting married in a spring garden or are just in a spring mood!

Invitations in Stop Motion, Another Way to View Our Design Work

We recently decided we were going to see if we could showcase our work another way and thought we’d give it a shot with stop motion and animation. We have 6 videos as of December 2013 and will add another half dozen or so to our 2014 Custom Wedding Invitation channel on Vimeo. If you like what you see, just leave a note in the comments. We hope you enjoy our sense of humor and style.

[INFOGRAPHIC] Wedding Invitation Wording and RSVP- 2013

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Since we are halfway through the 2013 wedding season we thought we’d look back at our last 400 wedding invitations and survey the wording of those invites and rsvp cards and break it down in infographic form. Using the latest techniques in social science research methods we know that there is an error rate of +/- Pretty Good for our sample size. Since we are located in Washington, DC (the center of made up facts from surveys) we thought we would help the future brides put to rest any worries they had about what others are doing about wedding invitation etiquette. We also included a little something about what the letter “M” means when it is followed by a long black line on an RSVP card. We had fun crunching the numbers and making this wedding infographic come to life. Please feel free to use the code below on our site to paste it and share it.
