Quatrefoil Invitations in Yellow and Gray

These custom wedding invitations feature an elegant quatrefoil pattern, in a beautiful combination of gray, yellow, and white. Created here in our Washington DC studio, these letterpress invitations also highlight the couple’s custom monogram made from the same quatrefoil motif. A great look for a romantic wedding with modern sensibilities.

Blind Debossing and Yellow Edge Painting

The main print feature is the “blind” debossed pattern, where the design is letterpressed without ink. This creates a striking look and texture with the deep pressing in thick cotton 220lb letterpress paper. The same effect also creates a unique textured background pattern on the reception card. The whole look is accented by a yellow painted edge on the invitations, and yellow patterned envelope liner.

Watercolor and Letterpress Invitations

A beautiful watercolor flowers design and a letterpress print came together in this perfect spring wedding invitation. This custom wedding invitation was created for a bride who wanted a rich forest and flowers feel, with lots of greens, purples, and pinks. Wildflowers rising out of the earth symbolize new life and a new beginning for the couple on their wedding day.

Luxurious Papers and Colors

The original watercolor design was reproduced digitally on Crane Lettra paper, with a deep green letterpress print for the text. A forest green cardstock was applied to the back of the invitation, and also used for the inner envelope liner. The forest colors were rounded out with fresh spring green edge painting.

Custom Watercolor Design

If you love the look of both watercolors and letterpress, this type of combination would be perfect for your own custom wedding invitations. Watercolor flowers are a beautiful and happy decoration for your wedding invitation, whether you’re getting married in a spring garden or are just in a spring mood!

Invitations in Stop Motion, Another Way to View Our Design Work

We recently decided we were going to see if we could showcase our work another way and thought we’d give it a shot with stop motion and animation. We have 6 videos as of December 2013 and will add another half dozen or so to our 2014 Custom Wedding Invitation channel on Vimeo. If you like what you see, just leave a note in the comments. We hope you enjoy our sense of humor and style.

Beach Theme Invitation

What do you do when it’s time for invitations for your beach wedding, but you don’t want it to be too “beachy”? We decided to focus on the flow of the water and waves and an elegant letterpress presentation to give the right feel for Lisa & Bryant’s wedding on Cape Cod. It also had to match the “Tie Optional” vibe, so it definitely called for some bubbles and waves to give it some fun! The groom’s parents live here in Washington, DC so we enjoyed working with them in person to come up with a set of pieces that would get everyone excited about the big event.

Time for a Pocketfold

This wedding had many details to include, from the information on accommodations that needed to be booked well in advance, to a rehearsal dinner clambake, to a day-after brunch. The perfect time for a pocketfold to hold everything together! This pocketfold was done in pearlescent silvery paper, closed with a belly band with the couple’s new monogram letterpressed in silver. All wrapped up in an organized package to help everyone plan.

This design is also available as a digital print through our Zazzle store.

Stop Motion From Our Studio

We’ve been playing around with stop motion photography in our studio and came up with a few videos. Here’s one just for this invitation set. Watch for the jumping fish.
