Letterpress Party Invitations
Is there another way to celebrate a double digit (33) birthday party other than with apple martinis announced on a custom letterpress invitation and printed pocket fold card? How many of us have been invited to a party with just an email? My grandmother would say that the whole world has gone to hell in a hand basket (I never understood that one). A few weeks ago a very sincere woman from the South called and asked about personal stationery. After a few minutes, she told me the story of how she received an email thank you note from her niece for a wedding gift and attending her wedding. She said, and I quote, “I almost threw up!”
Designing and printing these invites for intimate 50 person gathering really meant a lot to us. It meant that manners did not die with technology at the speed of the Evite. It meant that letterpress lives and will continue. We make many invitations for many people, but it’s rare to have a single guy walk into the studio and hear him say, “I’m celebrating my 33rd birthday and throwing a party, what can you do to help me make the invitation special?” We’re pleased to see a shift coming from the younger set (I think it’s Generation Y?) from taking no time and effort in sending an invitation to taking care and thought in sending out one, which reminds me, I have to send him a thank you note for giving me some inspiration today.

Art Deco Pink Foil Wedding Invitations
- Colors & text your choice
- Customizable
- 100% cotton paper
- Matching pieces available
- Minimum order quantity 50
What could sound more fun and elegant at the same time than a Greek wedding in a gorgeous venue with a California art deco flair? This luxury wedding invitation in pink, white, and black was inspired by the couple’s art deco hotel wedding location, combined with a Greek pattern flair taken from the bride’s Greek heritage. Who can resist a vast expanse of pink foil combined with beautiful black letterpress on thick cotton paper? You certainly could not do so once you saw the additional pink letterpress backer in a coordinating modern pattern in Greek meander style on the reverse side of the invitation. At the same time, tiny pink foil flowers on the invitation and matching pieces give it a delicate touch. Call it Greco-art deco if you will, we just call it a fantastic wedding invitation to go with a fantastic couple! We hope the guests loved the convenience of a luxury accessory sleeve to hold all the pieces together. We loved the texture and feel that only letterpress printing and foil stamping can give to a super thick invitation cardstock in 100% cotton.

Who needs an Engraved Invitation when there’s This!
Do you really need to say that this wedding invitation is requesting you to attend a formal event requiring a black tie? If pictures speak a 1,000 words, then surely this is 2,000 words. It’s a finely detailed 220 LB 100% cotton behemoth and it beckons your attendance to the formal event of the season. If you’re looking for that “Hollywood” invitation or one that would have been used by The Great Gatsby, here it is. It has a black paper backer designed with the damask pattern, which is to say that, in case you missed the front, the back if fantastic too! The labels on the these elegant scallop edge luxury mailing envelopes are letterpress printed, leaving enough room for your calligrapher to properly address it to your guests.
Accommodation Cards
The bride and groom thought it best to include a travel set with all the necessary accommodation and travel information cards for the out of town visitor so they could easily carry it with them on their journey. And although we live in the computer age, the wedding website is printed on a separate card, not on the invitation so that even “Miss Manners” would approve of its use.
This set is elegant simplicity. Bright white heavy weight cotton paper with black ink. All made in letterpress printing, although, we doubt anything printed was this nice 400 years ago, unless it was by hand. If you need a formal invitation, consider using this larger size piece and make it simple in black and white. Consider variations like black paper with a white foil stamp and silver paper with a black foil stamp. The point is that if you need formality, use black and white, it’s timeless. Change the size and rearrange it a bit and you can add modern sophistication. It looks great as a 6.75 X 6.75 square too.
