GS Monogram or SG Monogram, Crest, Logo
Vintage Monogram
When you have an SG monogram (or GS monogram) in a classic style, it’s the perfect decoration to an elegant wedding invitation or personal stationery. The curve of the S embraces the G, like an intertwined hug representing a new life together. One of the two initials is shaded to create a contrast between the two letters. In the past, a monogram for a couple might include the new couple’s shared last name. Many people still do that, but we more often see the couple using the starting letters of their first names. The result is something formal and classic combined with a contemporary meaning.
We have an extensive collection of item with this SG GS logo already ready to print. For flat-printed pieces please visit: GS Monogram or SG Monogram Collection. If you would like a different color, or custom prints in letterpress or foil, please contact us.
The wedding invitation below uses the SG Monogram (GS Monogram) as a decoration at the top of the invitation. In this case the monogram is printed in a gold color, but we also love to see monograms in a silver foil or a blue letterpress. In this invitation, Gayle and Stephen represent their new life together with this intertwined S and G.
Classic Personal Stationery
A monogram like this one is often used as a personal logo for notecards and thank you notes. The folded card below also makes a great gift for someone you know who loves writing actual notes that come in the mail. At Digby & Rose we always love receiving an actual card with a message from a loved one. In this logo, the S and G are still very readable and it’s easy to see what letters are being used.
